A Eira de Deva
An ethnographic complex linked to the Deva valley, in A Cañiza, that preserves the historical memory of this area of the municipality.
In the 18th century the territory was under the dominion of the House of the Sarmientos, Counts of Cervellón and lords of the valleys of Petán and Deva, which left a deep mark on the organisation and life of its people. The eiras were communal spaces fundamental to rural Galician culture, used for threshing and drying grain as well as for neighbourly gatherings. The one at Deva survives as a testament to traditional agricultural practices and the social history of this parish, set within the natural surroundings of the source of the river Deva.
