A Franqueira Sanctuary
One of the most venerated Marian sanctuaries in southern Galicia, located in the Paradanta mountains, in the parish of A Franqueira.
It has its origins in a medieval Cistercian monastery, of which the church is preserved, and houses the Virgin of the Fountain or of A Franqueira, a stone image in the Romanesque-Gothic tradition. Its two major pilgrimages are declared of tourist interest and attract devotees from Galicia and northern Portugal.
