Monte Castelo
A hill in the parish of Pesqueiras, in Salvaterra de Miño, that rises on the site of an old Romanised hill fort.
At its summit stands the Chapel of the Assumption, and nearby rocks bear carvings — serpentiform motifs and horseshoe-like figures — pointing to occupation as far back as the Neolithic. The site combines archaeological, religious and scenic values.
