Curro do Pedroso
A Rapa das Bestas also known as the Curro do Faro, held on the first Sunday of August in A Cañiza, organised by the Asociación Caballar Pedroso de Ribadil.
The day begins early with the ascent to the curro and the descent in a herd of horses, mares and foals from the mountains of O Faro, Chans da Cañiza and Laxa Moura to the enclosure. There the animals are health-checked, microchipped, branded and bought and sold among farmers, all in a festive atmosphere with traditional music and gastronomy. It was first held in 1994.
