Lamprey Sculpture

Imaxe por defecto

A sculpture on the riverside promenade of Salvaterra de Miño, representing the lamprey, an emblematic fish of the gastronomy and culture of the Lower Miño.

It was made by students of the Intermediate Welding and Boilermaking course at the Vocational Training Centre of Salvaterra de Miño, who built it over four years. The piece highlights the life cycle of this ancient fish, which returns to this stretch of the river after spending its youth in the sea.
