Historic Route Between Abbeys
A medieval road with over 800 years of history, restored and waymarked jointly by the municipalities of A Cañiza and Melón.
It links the Monastery of Santa María de Melón (Ourense) with the Sanctuary of A Franqueira, over a route of some 9.5 km rich in history and monuments. The route follows old royal roads and passes through villages such as A Ponte, Curuxal and the Barazal oak grove.
