Ribadetea Tortilla Festival
Ribadetea Tortilla Festival, a popular gastronomic event celebrated in spring at the Ribadetea cultural center in Ponteareas, spanning over fifteen editions.
The central act is an omelet ('tortilla') competition: entries are collected in the morning and, following the jury's evaluation, prizes are awarded before a general tasting begins, enlivened by traditional bagpipe and folk groups. Prizes are given for the best, second, and third-placed tortillas, as well as for the most innovative entry and a curious, humorous category known as the «desconsolada» (the heartbroken). Some editions include a «Tortilla Rock» concert on the eve.
