Carnaval of Salceda de Caselas

Imaxe por defecto

Carnival with over 130 years of history, considered one of the most iconic and traditional in the Bajo Mino region.

Its most unique elements are the Rancho de Reis and the Rancho de Entroido, recovered and maintained since 2018 by the A Feira Cultural Association. Dancers wear highly vibrant, colorful costumes, and a major highlight is the 'damas' (ladies), who display a large amount of real jewelry. Historically, these valuable pieces were loaned by wealthy families and required dedicated escorts to guard them during parades. Dances are performed to bagpipes and drums, ending with the burning of the 'Castrino'.
