Churrasco Festival
Gastronomic festival celebrated in Covelo around July 25th, St. James the Apostle's Day, integrated into the municipality's patronal celebrations.
A massive barbecue takes place at the Campo da Feira, where tons of pork and beef ribs ('churrasco') are prepared and distributed at popular prices, accompanied by peppers, traditional bread, and wine. The feast extends to local hospitality venues. The day includes a solemn mass and procession honoring Saint James, accompanied by the Mondariz Music Band, the Covelo Product and Craft Exhibition, as well as performances by street bands, traditional groups, and orchestras.
